CONSCIOUS SEDATION AND GENERAL ANAESTHETIC
If you are highly strung, extremely nervous of dental treatments or suffering from dental phobia. We offer you the choice of getting the treatment done in my surgery whilst under conscious sedation. We use an Anaesthetist with more than 20 years of experience in sedation.
For the little ones under the age of 8 years old in need of extensive restorative work, we make use of a theatre at Blaauwberg Netcare Hospital. Our practice is accredited with the hospital and we have a weekly slot in theatre available. Medical Aids normally provides cover for dental work to be done in theatre up to the age of eight years old.
ON-SITE DENTAL LABORATORY.
We are also in the fortunate position to have a full-time dental technician on site. He operates his own lab independent from my practice, but we have full access to his lab. A full set of dentures can be made within 1 or 2 days, especially of a great benefit for the patients traveling from afar or abroad.
Also, depending on his workflow, most repairs to dentures can be done while you wait. This is an enormous benefit to the patient as no one likes to be seen without teeth and the turnaround time for repairs from practices who have to send their work to a lab can take anything between two and three days. This is an eternity for the toothless patient waiting for his repair.
